Stretford, town (1991 pop. 47,522), Trafford metropolitan district, NW England, in the Greater Manchester metropolitan area. Contiguous with Manchester and Salford, it has a large dock area and various manufactures.
Stretford an industrial town in NW England, in Trafford unitary authority, Greater Manchester. Pop.: 42 103 (2001) Stretford a city in Great Britain, in the county of Greater Manchester. Population, 52,500 (1973). Situated between the Manchester Ship Canal and the Bridgewater Canal, Stretford produces electrical machinery, chemicals, agricultural machinery, and foodstuffs.
