MCAin full Music Corporation of AmericaEntertainment conglomerate. It was founded in Chicago in 1924 by Jules Stein as a talent agency. In the 1960s it bought Decca Records and Universal Pictures, and today it produces films, music, and television shows. It was acquired by Matsushita of Japan in 1990. MCASee Micro Channel.

The MCA name has existed since 1924 when Jules Stein and William Goodheart founded Music Corporation of America, a Chicago-based booking agency for big bands. The "Grandfather of The ALS Association," Barnett, former president of Music Corporation of America and General Artists Corporation, spearheaded the move in 1985 to establish ALSA, and his keen guidance shepherded it into national prominence. |
