Mweru
a lake in central Africa, on the border between Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Za?re). Area: 4196 sq. km (1620 sq. miles) Mweru (Moero), a lake in Africa, on the border of Zaire and Zambia. Located at an elevation of 917 m. Area, 5,100 sq km; depths 9-15 m. The Luapula River flows into Lake Mweru, and the Luvua River (a tributary of the Congo) flows out of it. It is navigable. The main landings are Kilwa and Pweto, both in Zai’re.
