Myers, Jerome (1867–1940) painter; born in Petersburg, Va. Based in New York City (1886), he studied with George De Forest Brush at the Art Students League (c. 1888) before he traveled to Paris (1896). He returned to New York and began his joyful paintings of children and emigrants such as The Tambourine (1905).
