National Public Radio (NPR)U.S. public radio network. It was established by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in 1970 to provide programming to U.S. noncommercial and educational radio stations. While initially providing programs on the arts, after 1983 the network focused largely on news programming. NPR West's Culver City campus opened nearly four years ago and is the production facility for the national network's popular "Day to Day" and "News & Notes" shows. The agencies intend to move forward with an NPR for domestic implementation of Basel II, but plan to introduce additional prudential safeguards in the NPR to address concerns identified in the analysis of the results of the QIS4 conducted with the industry.
