Nagel, Thomas

Nagel, Thomas (1937–  ) philosopher; born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. After receiving a Harvard doctorate (1963), he taught at the University of California: Berkeley (1963–66) and Princeton (1966–80), then became a professor and department chairman at New York University. His specialties include ethics, philosophy of mind, and ancient philosophy; his books include Mortal Questions (1978).
