Nagurski, Bronislaw

    0.06 sec.
Nagurski, (Bronislaw) “Bronko” (1908–90) football player; born in Rainy River, Ontario, Canada. Chosen All-American at the University of Minnesota in 1929 at both tackle and fullback, he became the archetype pile-driving fullback of the 1930's with the National Football League Chicago Bears. Although never the league's rushing leader, the powerful, 235-pound runner was nearly impossible to stop without a gain. Ironically, his jump pass to “Red” Grange won the 1932 championship for the Bears.
