a city in central Hungary, located in Pest megyék. Population, 25,800 (1970). It is a center for wine growing and fruit and vegetable raising in the region between the Danube and Tisza Rivers. Fruit and vegetable canneries, tobacco enterprises, and wineries are located in the city.

Menyhert Egri Szabo, a Calvinist minister, preached in the town of Nagykoros as follows: "Civil freedom does not mean unruliness, confusion, or disorder; much rather, it means law and responsibility.
Pony cart competitions are held at Nagykoros and Kocser, while the two-hand and four-hand horse competitions take place at Tapioszentmarton, Tapiogyorgy, Ujszilvas, Jaszkarajeno and numerous other shows and exhibitions are held throughout the summer months.
Headquartered in northern France, the 131-year-old company last year marched east to start up factory operations in Warsaw, Poland, and Nagykoros, Hungary.
