Nanping

Nanping (nän`pĭng`) or Yanping (yän`–), city (1994 est. pop. 211,700), N central Fujian prov., China, on the upper Min River. An important rail hub, it has expanded from a regional market town to include cement, paper-product, chemical, and machine-tool manufacturing.
