Napo

 

a river in South America, in Ecuador and Peru; a left tributary of the Amazon. Length, 800 km. The Napo River rises in the Ecuadorian Andes, near the Cotopaxi volcano. It overflows from June through August. The river’s lower course is accessible to small vessels.
