(People’s Vengeance). (1) A secret revolutionary-conspiratorial society organized in 1869 in Moscow by S. G. Nechaev.
(2) A revolutionary journal with anarchist leanings, published in 1869–70 in Geneva by Nechaev for the organization of the same name. Two issues appeared. For conspiratorial purposes, a fictitious place of publication was indicated for each issue—Moscow for the first, St. Petersburg for the second. Narodnaia rasprava set as its ultimate goal the organization of a “popular peasant revolution.”
