National Aviation Heritage Area Address: Aviation Heritage Foundation, Inc. PO Box 414 Dayton, OH 45409 Phone: 937-222-6039; Web: birthplaceofaviation.com Established: Authorized on December 8, 2004. The area will be managed by the non-profit organization Aviation Heritage Foundation, Inc. Location: An eight-county region in Southwest Ohio. Special Features: Consisting of 9 historical sites and one member organization, NAHA builds upon the Wright Brothers' legacy and the aviation history that followed them in the Dayton, Ohio region. Partnership projects among federal, state and local governments and the private sector have been occurring since the passage of the Dayton Aviation Heritage Preservation Act in 1992. Heritage development, interpretation and preservation projects based on historic aviation resources and sites will be strengthened and enhanced by the new designation. Resources within the heritage area's boundaries include Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park. See other parks in Ohio.
