Natural Bridge State Resort Park Location: 52 miles southeast of Lexington off the Mountain Parkway on KY 11. Facilities: 35-room mountainside lodge, 11 cottages, 175-seat dining room, 82 campsites with utilities and 12 primitive campsites, central service buildings with showers and restrooms, 4 picnic shelters with restrooms, playground, hiking trails, swimming pool, bathhouse, watercraft rentals, 18-hole miniature golf course, nature center, nature preserve, meeting rooms, gift shop, open-air dance patio (Hoedown Island), sky lift, 2 snack bars. Activities: Camping, swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, naturalist programs. Special Features: Located adjacent to the Daniel Boone National Forest (see separate entry in national forests section) and the Red River Gorge Geological Area, Natural Bridge is a sandstone arch that spans 78 feet across and is 65 feet high.
