(formerly) a Muslim ruling prince or powerful landowner in India

Nawab 

the title given the vicegerent of a province under the Mogul Empire in India in the 17th century. As the empire began to disintegrate in the first half of the 18th century, the nawabs of many provinces, including Bengal, Arcot, and Oudh, gained de facto independence.

QUETTA, November 19, 2009 (Balochistan Times): Nawabzada Hairbiar Marri, son of veteran nationalist leader Nawab Khair Baksh Marri has said that government has set dramas of Balochistan package and Parliamentary Committee on Balochistan issue just to impede Baloch freedom struggle waged by its martyred leaders.
According to the private channel the Minister and members from Balochistan Assembly heading by Chief Minister of Balochistan Nawabzada Aslam Raeesani along with Lashkari Raeesani the president of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Balochistan had met with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prim Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani.
According to The News, Brigadier Isfandyar Ali Pataudi is the son of Nawabzada Sher Ali Pataudi.
