Pulmicort Turbuhaler is taken once daily with an electronic nebuliser that change liquid medicines into a fine mist for easy breathing in.
Although the nebuliser group had a significantly higher average initial baseline pulmonary index score - an asthma severity score based on an individual's respiratory rate inspiration/expiration ratio, degree of wheezing, and accessory muscle use - the researchers controlled for this and showed infants treated with nebulisers were more than three times as likely to require hospital admission.
