Nelson, Marjorie Maxine

Nelson, Marjorie Maxine (1909–62) biochemist; born in Kansas City, Mo. A University of California: Berkeley Ph.D., she was a staff biochemist at the Institute of Experimental Biology there (1944–58). She was among the first to study environmental factors in fetal development; her research demonstrated that malnutrition causes fetal damage.
