Nerussa 

(also Neruza), a river in Orel and Briansk oblasts, RSFSR, a left tributary of the Desna (Dnieper basin). It is 161 km long and drains an area of 5,630 sq km. The Nerussa originates on the western slope of the Central Russian Upland. It is fed primarily by snow. The mean flow rate 38 km from the river’s mouth is approximately 13.5 cu m per sec. The river freezes over between the end of November and early January, thawing in late March and early April. It is used for floating timber. The city of Dmitrovsk-Orlovskii is located on the upper course of the Nerussa.
