Ness
Loch. a lake in NW Scotland, in the Great Glen: said to be inhabited by an aquatic monster. Length: 36 km (22.5 miles). Depth: 229 m (754 ft.)

Ness 

(Loch Ness), a lake in northern Great Britain, in Scotland. Loch Ness lies in the Great Glen of Scotland, a glacial tectonic valley; it is approximately 40 km long, with depths to 230 m and an area of 56 sq km. The banks are high and rocky. The lake does not freeze. Its waters flow into Moray Firth of the Atlantic Ocean. Loch Ness is part of the Caledonian Canal. A “Loch Ness monster” is reputed to live in the lake.
