NLM
(1) Software that ran in a NetWare server. Although NetWare servers stored DOS and Windows applications, they did not execute them. All programs had to be compiled into the NLM format. They were typically written in C and used Novell's libraries. NLMs began with NetWare 3.x. The earlier NetWare 2.x counterpart was known as a Value Added Process (VAP). See NetWare.

(2) (National Library of Medicine) See healthcare IT.
