Neugebauer, Otto (?–1990) astronomer/mathematical historian; born in Austria. Fleeing Nazism, he came to America (1939) to teach at Brown University where he became known as a devoted teacher, mathematical and astrological historian, and founder of Mathematical Reviews. A member of the National Academy of Sciences, he was an intensely private man.
