neutral point [′nü·trəl ‚pȯint] (electricity) Point which has the same potential as the point of junction of a group of equal nonreactive resistances connected at their free ends to the appropriate main terminals or lines of the system. (fluid mechanics) (metallurgy) In rolling mills, the point at which the speed of the work is equal to the peripheral speed of the rolls. (meteorology) (optics) In atmospheric optics, one of several points in the sky for which the degree of polarization of diffuse sky radiation is zero.
