Activities: Camping, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, swimming, boating, kayaking, whitewater rafting, fishing, hunting, climbing. Special Features: A rugged, whitewater river, flowing northward through deep canyons, the New is among the oldest rivers on the continent. The free-flowing river falls 750 feet in 50 miles from Bluestone Dam to Gauley Bridge, creating one of the finest whitewater rivers in the eastern United States.
