Newell, Norman Dennis

Newell, Norman Dennis (1909–  ) paleontologist, geologist; born in Chicago. Simultaneously professor of geology at Columbia University and curator of fossils at the American Museum of Natural History (1945–77), Newell led many international expeditions and specialized in coral reefs and South American geology.
