Newton's alloy [′nüt·ənz ′al‚ȯi]
(metallurgy) A fusible alloy made up of 50% bismuth, 31% lead, and 19% tin; melts at 95°C; used in applications where it is required to fall away at predetermined temperatures, as for automatic sprinkler links.
