Newtown Saint BoswellsVillage (pop., 1991: 1,108), Scottish Borders council area, historic county of Roxburghshire, southeastern Scotland. It lies on the Edinburgh-Carlisle railway. Before 1929 its population consisted mainly of railroad employees. Since then its main function has changed to local governmental administration, and it has important livestock sales and a campus of Borders College.
