Neyveli 

a city in India, located in the state of Tamil Nadu. Population, 55,400 (1971). The city grew up in the 1960’s as lignite mining commenced and a steam power plant was constructed with aid from the USSR. A complex of coal chemistry enterprises provides such products as nitrogenous fertilizers and carbonized briquettes. A state corporation has charge of the city’s development.

Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) Established in 1956, Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited (NLC) is a mining company in India.
I grew up in an industrial company town - Neyveli - in southern India, where the principal activity is to generate about 2,500 megawatts of electricity by firing up the lignite mined there.
Small stakes in listed firms such as Neyveli Lignite Corporation, National Thermal Power Corporation and National Aluminium Company, are also possible, analysts say.
