| Laryngeal electromyography revealed mild paresis of the right superior laryngeal nerve, moderate-to-severe paresis of the right recurrent laryngeal nerve, moderate paresis of the left superior laryngeal nerve, and normal function in the left recurrent laryngeal nerve. He notes that some midge larvae endure sojourns in absolute alcohol and then recover normal function when returned to water.
