North Galactic Pole

one of the two points of intersection of the celestial sphere with a line perpendicular to the plane of the galactic equator and passing through the center of the celestial sphere. Located in the northern sky, in the constellation Coma Berenices, the north galactic pole has the following approximate equatorial coordinates: right ascension α = 12^h 49^m; declinations δ = +27.4°.
