North Las Vegas, city (1990 pop. 47,707), Clark co., SE Nev., a residential suburb of Las Vegas; inc. 1946. Tourism is the economic mainstay of this growing suburb. The city's population more than tripled between 1990 and 2003. Manufactures include furniture, food products, chemicals, food containers, septic tanks, fertilizers, and gaming equipment. Part of Nellis Air Force Base is within the city limits.

Scenic Airlines, based in Las Vegas, operates one flight a day from Palmdale to North Las Vegas Airport.
Recreation professionals from these two cities assembled a coalition of agencies that included North Las Vegas, Boulder City, Clark County, NRPA, the UNLV Athletic Department, UNIX Sports Education & Leadership Department, Nevada Recreation and Parks Association and the National Alliance for Youth Sports (NAYS) to sponsor and participate in the summit and festival.
The North Las Vegas airport had 64,000 passengers last year.
