Northfleet, town (1991 pop. 26,250), Kent, SE England. Shipbuilding and the production of cement and paper are the main industries. In the center of town is a Roman Catholic church designed by George Gilbert Scott Scott, Sir George Gilbert, 1811–78, English architect. Prominent in the Gothic revival, he designed many public structures.
