Norton, Mary Alice

Norton, Mary Alice (b. Peloubet) (1860–1928) home economist; born in Lanesville, Mass. She was a Smith College graduate and associate of Ellen H. Richards, whom she helped to prepare Home Sanitation (1887). She taught domestic science in New England schools and at the University of Chicago (1900–13), and edited the Journal of Home Economics (1915–21).
