Novosibirsk Reservoir 

a reservoir formed by the dam of the Novosibirsk Hydroelectric Power Plant on the Ob’ River in Novosibirsk Oblast and Altai Krai, RSFSR. Filled in 1957–59. Area, 1,070 sq km; volume, 8.8 cu km; length, 200 km; maximum width, 17 km; average depth, 8.3 m. The water level fluctuates by 5 m. Novosibirsk Reservoir seasonally regulates the water flow. The city of Kamen’-na Obi and the scientific community of the Siberian Division of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, which constitutes a district of the city of Novosibirsk, are located on the reservoir.
