O'Callaghan, (Donald Neil) “Mike” (1920– ) governor; born in La Crosse, Wis. A Korean War army hero (he lost one leg), he became Southern Nevada Amateur Athletic Union president in 1959. After directing state and federal agencies, he opened a consulting firm in 1969. As governor of Nevada (Dem., 1971–79), he passed a fair housing law and strong antipollution measures.
