Omet

Also found in: Acronyms 0.01 sec.
Omet

(archaic), a large pile of straw gathered after threshing. In the USSR the omet was widely used on individually owned peasant farms. The term is no longer used because of the prevalence of combine grain harvesting, during which straw is hauled away from the field for stacking or silage.
