OSD

(1) (On-Screen Display) An on-screen control panel for adjusting monitors and TVs. The OSD is used for contrast, brightness, horizontal and vertical positioning and other monitor adjustments.

(2) (Open Software Description) An XML data vocabulary for describing a software package, module or component. OSD was designed to ease the distribution and updating of software via push technology.
