1 Village (1990 pop. 53,648), Cook co., NE Ill., a residential suburb adjacent to Chicago; settled 1833, inc. 1901. Some 25 houses there and the Unity Temple (1908) were designed by Frank Lloyd Wright Wright, Frank Lloyd, 1867–1959, American architect, b. Richland Center, Wis. Wright is widely considered the greatest American architect. After studying civil engineering at the Univ. 2 City (1990 pop. 30,462), Oakland co., SE Mich., a suburb of Detroit; inc. 1927.
