Obruchev, Akademik
a mountain range in the central part of the Vostochnaia Tuva Highlands in eastern Tuva ASSR. The Akademik Obruchev Range is 250 km long and rises to a maximum elevation of 2,895 m. It consists of several mountain chains, composed mainly of granites, schists, and sandstones. Its slopes are covered with taiga forests, and its peaks with mountain tundra and rock streams.
