Ochlockonee River State Park

Location: 4 miles south of Sopchoppy on US 319, 10 miles from the Gulf Coast.
Facilities: 30 full-facility campsites, youth group camp, picnic tables, boat ramp, nature trails.
Activities: Camping, boating, canoeing, freshwater and saltwater fishing, swimming, hiking, bicycling, wildlife viewing.
Special Features: From the park, boaters have access to the Ochlockonee River, Ochlockonee Bay, and the Gulf of Mexico. Ochlockonee, which means "yellow waters," is a mix of brackish, tidal surge, and fresh water. The park's diverse biological communities feature small grass ponds, bayheads, and oak thickets which provide habitat for deer, fox squirrel, bobcat, gray fox, as well as numerous species of birds including the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker.
