The Ocmulgee Indian Celebration is a festival held on September at the Ocmulgee National Monument.
Topping the list are two landscapes sacred to native peoples: Ocmulgee Old Fields, a national monument in Georgia where ancestral mounds may soon be destroyed by highway construction, and Zuni Salt Lake in New Mexico, which is threatened by the Salt River Project's proposed coal stripmine.
The list of endangered parks includes: Big Thicket National Preserve, Texas; Denali National Park and Preserve, Alaska; Everglades National Park, Florida; Glacier National Park, Montana; Joshua Tree National Park, California; Ocmulgee National Monument, Georgia.
