October Armed Uprising in Moscow 

an uprising from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2 (Nov. 7–15), 1917, of the workers and revolutionary soldiers of the garrison, led by the Moscow Bolshevik organization. The uprising brought about the birth of Soviet rule in the city. The establishment of Soviet rule in Petrograd and Moscow—the capitals of Russia—initiated the triumphant march of Soviet power throughout the country.
