Odawara

Odawara 

a city in Japan in Kanagawa Prefecture, in the southeastern part of the island of Honshu. Population, 157,000 (1970).

Odawara is a railroad junction and the center of a chemical industry that produces explosives and celluloid products. It has metallurgical and machine-building industries, including motor-vehicle assembly. The city is a center for the production of movie and photographic equipment. It has a house-building combine and enterprises engaged in light industry. Large greenhouses are located in Odawara.
