Ogletree, Charles J., Jr. (1952–  ) professor, lawyer; born in Merced, Calif. A graduate of Stanford (1974) and Harvard Law School (1978), he worked with the District of Columbia Public Defender Service (1978–82; deputy director, 1984–85), then joined the faculty of Harvard Law School (1985), becoming director of its Criminal Justice Institute (1990). He became more widely known for his appearances on television programs involving legal issues.
