Okha Isthmus

a low, flat isthmus connecting the Shmidt Peninsula with the main part of the island of Sakhalin. It is 50 km long and 10–14 km wide. The Pomr’ (Pronge) lagoon in the west and the Tront (Tropto) and Kol’du lagoons in the east cut into the central section, which measures 6–7 km wide. The Okha-Moskal’vo railroad crosses the southern edge of the isthmus.
