Web: www.byways.org/browse/byways/11510/ Description: Byway winds alongside the Kennebec River, Wyman Lake, The Dead River, and vast forests, passing through villages and outposts that are much as they were at the turn of the century. It crosses the Appalachian National Scenic Trail at Caratunk and passes near Moxie Falls, the tallest waterfall in the state.
Legth: 78 miles. Start/Endpoint: From Twelve Corners, where US 201 intersects with SR 43, north along US 201 to the Canadian border. Time to Allow: 2.5 hours. Designation/Year: National Scenic Byway (2000).
