Old Fort Niagara State Historic Site

Location: 18 miles north of Niagara Falls via Robert Moses Parkway.
Facilities: Picnic area(é), historic building and garden, gift shop (é), scenic views.
Activities: Guided tours, living history demonstrations, reenactments, education programs.
Special Features: Fort's history spans more than 300 years, during which time it was occupied by three nations: France, Great Britain, and the United States. The French established the first post in 1679 and in 1726 built the impressive "French Castle," which still stands today. Visitors to the fort will see the oldest buildings in the Great Lakes region.
