Oleg Aleksandrovich Alekin

Alekin, Oleg Aleksandrovich 

Born Aug. 10 (23), 1908. Soviet hydrochemist, corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Union (1953). Member of the CPSU since 1942. Alekin is the author of works on the chemistry of natural waters, the methods of their chemical analysis, and andrology. He is the rector of the Leningrad Hydrometeorological Institute. He was awarded the State Prize of the USSR in 1951.
