Olmsted, Frederick Law, Jr. (1870–1957) landscape architect; born in Staten Island, N.Y. (son of Frederick Law Olmsted). Partner in Olmsted Brothers (1898–1950), he served on the Senate Park Commission to upgrade Washington, D.C. (1901–51), developing the system of regional parks that extends out into the suburbs.
