No references found | Using the medical record database of all residents of Olmsted County, Minnesota (where the Mayo Clinic is located), the investigators identified 822 subjects with RA by American College of Rheumatology criteria, aged 18 years or older. For the analysis, all Mayo Clinic health records from residents of Olmsted County, Minnesota, during the period 1994-2002 were screened for any of 40 diagnoses suggestive of dementia. In a population-based study, in which nearly 100% of patients received their care in two health care systems in Olmsted County, Minnesota, they found that the risk of complications was 87 per 100,000 person-years with a lifetime risk of 6. |
