Oman, Gulf of

 

a gulf in the northwestern Arabian Sea, connected with the Persian Gulf by the Strait of Hormuz. It is about 450 km long and has a maximum width of 330 km and a maximum depth of 3,694 m. The largest port on the gulf is Muscat in Oman.
