A development and database platform from Progress Software Corporation, Bedford, MA (www.progress.com) that runs on Windows, Linux and various Unix versions. It includes a 4GL-based language and relational DBMS, but also interfaces to Oracle, SQL Server and other databases. Formerly known as the Progress language and database, the company was founded in 1981.
